Example: How to Spot Calculation Errors

Imagine a student calculates a birth chart and gets:

  • Lagna: 15° Libra ✓ (reasonable)
  • Sun: 8° Gemini ✓ (reasonable)
  • Moon: 27° Aries ✓ (reasonable)
  • Mars: -3° Scorpio ✗ (impossible—negative longitude)
  • Mercury: 35° Cancer ✗ (impossible—a sign only has 30°)

Red flags appear immediately. The student must go back and:
